Objective of cluster

•    Analysis of the role of the tumour microenvironment (TME) in the initiation, progression and metastasising of tumours
•    Characterisation of tumour stem cell niche
•    Identification of TME-induced signal transduction paths in tumour cells
•    "Target validation" of therapeutically relevant key enzymes
•    Establishment of reliable and reproducible TME model systems
•    Pre-clinical and initiation of clinical studies

The incorporation of the TME is a promising and essential cornerstone in modern therapy concepts. The ongoing cooperation is therefore the basis for larger cooperative projects (FWF, SFB) in order to expedite the development of curative therapies for diverse cancers. This cluster pursues a translational approach.

If you require further information or if you are interested in joining this cluster, please contact the cluster manager or his representative.
