Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma (PCNSL) is a rare and malignant brain tumor. The prognosis of PCNSL is favorable in comparison to that of other brain tumors and in some patients long-term survival may be achieved. However, the clinical algorithms in this disease are particularly complex and require specialized expertise. Unfortunately, little and sometimes conflicting scientific data are available on PCNSL. Therefore, we need to strengthen scientific exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure optimal treatment and improved facilitation of research opportunities.
The CCC-CNS Unit invites cordially to its SANO Symposium on PCNS Lymphoma. The meeting will discuss pathobiology, epidemiology and strategies for diagnosis and treatment of PCNSL to provide up-to-date information for clinicians confronted with this disease.
Matthias Preusser, Coordinator of the CCC-CNS Unit, Department of Medicine I, Universitiy of Vienna, and Markus Raderer, Program Director Extranodal Lymphomas, Department of Medicine I, University of Vienna, warmly welcome all colleagues interested in this challenging disease to participate in the PCNSL Symposium and to actively interact and discuss current concepts and future directions.
